Salone del Mobile 2026 recorded 2,100 exhibitors from 36 countries, with a record 60% presenting product lines using recycled, bio-based, or rapidly renewable materials — up from 38% in 2024. Mushroom-composite panels (mycelium boards), seaweed-derived textiles, ocean-plastic furniture, and compressed agricultural waste panels were among the most-represented material categories.

President Maria Porro said the shift 'reflects a fundamental change in what specifiers are asking for — sustainability credentials are now as important as aesthetics and durability in procurement decisions.' The fair's satellite Euroluce lighting exhibition featured 14 manufacturers launching luminaire collections using fully disassemblable and recyclable components.
